How will your Leadership in Steam Initiative help students develop STEAM skills ? • Through offering many opportunities for exploration and self-directed, independent learning activities (non-structural) in conjunction with structured learning activities • Through developing a well-balance program between each individual aspect of STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math and finding a correlation and connection among each • Through mindful reflection and purposeful planning to ensure that students are challenged, eager, and always having fun • Ensuring that there are properly trained and certified STEAM facilitators, including developing a mindset for making and tinkering among staff, students, visiting experts and volunteers • Include an aspect of innovation and invention dedicated to finding solutions to every challenge • Develop critical, creative, flexible, and intuitive thinking skills to prepare students for future success |
